Designer Tom Ford is a dad!The designer confirmed today that he and his partner of more than 25 years, Richard Buckley, welcomed Alexander John Buckley Ford into the world on September 23rd, born via a surrogate in Los Angeles. We’re sure this little one will grow up as one of the world’s most stylish children-Ford famously designed Gucci for a decade, and now dresses Beyoncé, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Lopez and more in his namesake designs. Congrats to the new parents!

Today, TIME revealed its list of the world’s 100 most influential people, and the fashion industry got a bit of the love. Designer Tom Ford, former creative director at Gucci and YSL and now, the man behind his eponymous fashion and beauty brand, was listed amongst other Hollywood and political stars like Colin Firth, Justin Bieber, Michelle Obama and Hillary Clinton. In his write-up, actress Rita Wilson calls Ford a “sexy guy” who is deeply loyal. “Friendships are his other art. No fly by night. Tom has manners that are rare these days.” Heralding his obvious style skills and his amiability - he sends his own handwritten thank-you notes - Wilson says he stands out from the crowd. “Tom might be one of the TIME 100, but to me he is one in a million''.
