Lady Gaga: Alexander McQueen is Working Through Me

Alexander McQueen’s untimely death last year shocked the fashion world, and while Lady Gaga mourned alongside the designers and artists he touched, she believes his passing came with a purpose. “I think he planned the whole thing: Right after he died, I wrote ‘Born This Way,’” the singer explains in the May issue of Harper’s Bazaar. “I think he’s up in heaven with fashion strings in his hands, marionetting away, planning this whole thing.” In fact, in a twist of fate, Gaga’s record label moved the release date of “Born This Way,” dropping it on the one-year anniversary of McQueen’s death.
